Madame Jeanne Guyon: Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ

If you havent read this book you definatley should! technically i havent read it either, but i have read a couple chapters and so far amazing.She describes with such great simplicity the ability god has given us all to fullfill the call of experiencing the depths of his son jesus christ. she states in chapter one t "but we have all been called to the depths of jesus christ just as surley as we have been called to salvation." i believe god wants to go so much further in us as he wants us for him. he desires us to desire him, not a desire that requires us only touching the surface, but a full on dive into the pit. now i remember that it took some practice to learn how to dive. i remember going to the city pool one summer and practicing my heart out on diving, i would either posistion my arms incorrectly or not push off the edge at the right time, nor bend my knees at the right angle, and 99.999989% hahah of the time i would belly flop right into the pit having a HUGE red and SORE stomach,haha im sure some of you can relate, ill let you all know i actually went as far as one day trying my newly found diving skill on the 10 foot high dive.....drum roll please....complete belly flop! i almost needed a lifeguard, no joke! needless to say, i was done swimmig for the day. now at our pool the "pit" was the deep end where only the experienced divers and swimmers and deep swimmers would go. i would only practice my diving on the edge of the pit. of course i couldnt just dive into shallow water, but i just knew that if youre gonna be a diver you need deep water, the deep water is enough for the driven diver, who studies the water, its depth, its requirements, and has a great desire to experience what the world would look like from the point of view from deep inside at the complete bottom, it was great. something about the depths of the water and conquering th fear of the unknown. im learning latley from the lord which i think all sould know and take deep in consideration-you dont always need to know everything! we dont have to ask god why always, sometimes he likes us that way not knowing, if we knew it all i guess we would be god! he likes to keep us on the edge, practicing our diving technique and getting to know the more of him we are willing to take time to know and understand, so we can inturn take our dive and experience all of what he is. the "pit" has great requirements and not all choose to venture to that end, but there is a reason why you see many down at the deep end and never returning to the shallow end. its like it calls us. i think it is god given not to know about everything, it keeps us on our tippie toes and trusting him, he's the swim coach! hahah i love you jesus! if i knew everything already i guess to me....it just wouldn't be so exciting! just belive and know that with him as your swim coach, he will train and is training and equpping you and you are more equipped for what you're going thru or whatever you're about to go thru more than you think. you experience more the more willing you are to be trained and equipped along with your great desire to go deeper and ask what do you have for me today Lord?. which is the question we deep sea divers have written on our hearts every moment, and at every sight of the shore. im glad god requires the experiment and inturn gives an experience. that way we could teach others from our heart and not heads. think about it, dont we listen more to someone who has been thru the same thing instead of the one who just heard about it and maybe knows a little from studying?! bless you! haha! laugh hysterically today-the holy spirit loves it! practice with what you have been given-JOY!!!!!!, know it! dont let it go!
